Winery Tours in Málaga and Ronda: Prices and Times
A winery tour with tasting in Málaga province costs between 8 € and 38,50 € per person. The cheapest is Bodegas Quitapenas in Málaga city at 8 €, the most expensive Bodega Doña Felisa near Ronda at 38,50 €.
The difference from Jerez is bigger than the price suggests. There the houses sit inside the town; here five of the seven are up in the hills around Ronda. Without a car it gets awkward, and at two of them a couple pays more per head than a group.
Is this worth it for you?
Getting there and practicalities
Málaga province has three wine corners: the city itself, the hills around Ronda and the Axarquía to the east. They are far apart. If you want more than one house in a day, stay in Ronda.
Almost nothing works without a car
Only Bodegas Quitapenas sits inside Málaga city and therefore within reach of public transport. Ronda has a station, but the wineries are outside town. If you are arriving by plane, the options are in Malaga airport transfer.
Booking ahead is the rule here
All seven houses work by prior arrangement, several only from two people up. At Bodega Kieninger the group size even changes the price. Turning up unannounced works nowhere in this province.

1. Bodegas Quitapenas
The only house on this list inside Málaga city, on the Carretera de Guadalmar. At 8 € it is by far the cheapest. Children aged 4 to 17 pay 6 €. The tour covers two halls and finishes with two wines.
A duration is not stated on its own page, and neither are fixed start times. Tours run in Spanish. Bookings start at two people, so a solo visitor cannot get in.
2. Bodegas Bentomiz
In Sayalonga in the Axarquía, a good hour east of Málaga. 15 € for the tour and four wines, running 75 minutes, from 12:30 to 13:45. Explanations come in English, in Spanish or in both.
The winery stands alone on a hill above its terraces, which makes the drive part of the outing. Booking goes through the calendar on its own page. It names no minimum group size.
3. Bodegas Excelencia
On the Cordel del Puerto near Ronda, 25 € for around 90 minutes. That puts this house between city-based Quitapenas and the three larger Ronda estates.
Its page asks explicitly for a reservation in advance, but names neither fixed times nor tour languages. Ask about both when you book rather than assuming them.
4. Cortijo Los Aguilares
35 € for 80 minutes, guided in Spanish, English or French. Under-18s pay nothing. Open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, Saturday mornings on request, closed Sundays and public holidays.
The estate sits in open countryside outside Ronda. Tours run all year and a reservation is compulsory. For families it is the cheapest of the Ronda estates, because the children go free.
5. La Melonera
Also 35 €, here for 90 minutes in Spanish and English. Children aged 11 to 17 pay 15 €, under-10s go free. Tours run Monday to Sunday in two slots, at 10:30 and at 16:00.
Groups are capped at 15 people, and at 30 for the Saturday 10:30 slot. Weekend visitors should book earlier for that reason. The estate offers five further formats, the dearest at 65 €.
6. Bodega Kieninger
The most interesting case for German-speaking visitors: this estate near Ronda also runs its website in German. The full experience takes around 2 hours and costs 35 € from three people up, but 45 € per person for two.
It is the only place in this province where group size changes the price rather than the date. Two people therefore pay 90 € instead of 70 €. Included are the vineyard, the cellar and four wines with local produce.
7. Bodega Doña Felisa
At 38,50 € for 90 minutes the dearest house here. Tours run daily at 11:30, through the vineyard and the production area, finishing with four wines and tapas. Children under 16 pay 20 €, under-5s nothing.
Its own page names no tour language. Reservations go directly to the estate. The tasting-only option at 30 € is a different product from what is compared here.
What the day costs in total
The tour itself is 8 € to 38,50 €. At six of the seven houses add the drive, and in Ronda usually lunch as well. A day for two at one of the Ronda estates realistically lands around 100 €.
The city is markedly cheaper: Quitapenas at 8 € a head slots into a Málaga sightseeing day you were making anyway. What belongs on the table alongside is in traditional Andalusian food.
Ronda or the city? The reality check
The province offers two quite different kinds of visit. These points help you choose.

Insider tip
If you only have one day and still want two houses, stay in Ronda and work around the fixed slots. La Melonera at 10:30 and Doña Felisa at 11:30 cannot both happen, but La Melonera at 10:30 and a second estate in the afternoon can. The Axarquía only makes sense as a trip of its own.
Worth knowing before you book
The difference from Jerez is the car. Tasting in Ronda means driving back on country roads afterwards. The Dirección General de Tráfico sets the limit at 0,5 grams per litre of blood, and 0,3 grams per litre for drivers in their first two years and for professional drivers. What a check costs is in our guide to Spanish traffic fines.
And the point that still needs saying: tastings are events for adults aged 18 and over. Several houses welcome children, the tasting is not meant for them. Where this area sits among the other wine regions is in our guide to the wine regions of Andalusia.
The Ronda y Málaga wine route is one of the three officially recognised in Andalusia; the list is kept by the agriculture ministry. If it is sherry you are after, our Jerez bodega comparison is the better page.
Six of the seven houses sit far enough out that a missed slot costs half a day. Fixing the date and time in advance, rather than phoning from the road, saves the wasted drive. Two of these estates can also be reserved through a platform built around wineries, with a fixed slot and stated cancellation terms.
Our recommendation: Winery visits with Winalist
Two houses from this comparison are bookable through Winalist: Bodegas Bentomiz in the Axarquía and Bodegas Excelencia near Ronda. The platform is built around wineries and wine experiences; you book a fixed slot, and the cancellation terms are stated on each experience.

Frequently asked questions
Ronda is one of those places where a day out turns into a question. The answer is not in the vineyard, it is in the numbers on rent, running costs and paperwork.
Verdict
8 € in the city, 35 € in the hills: that is the real split in this province. If you want to see the wine being made, drive to Ronda. If you only want to taste it, take Quitapenas at 8 € and save the day in the car.
The costliest mistake is assuming two areas can be combined. Sayalonga and Ronda are half a province apart. If you want both, plan two days and start with Ronda, because five of the seven houses are there.
