Andalusia Energy Efficiency Grants: €20.77 Million Opens on 22 October
Andalusia’s energy efficiency grants open for applications at 9:00 on 22 October 2026, with €20.77 million on the table for insulation, new windows, air conditioning and solar panels. The Agencia Andaluza de la Energía set this out in a resolution dated 21 September 2026 and published in the BOJA on 25 September 2026.
Key facts at a glance
What Andalusia’s energy efficiency grants pay for
The money sits in the agency’s Programme 1, which covers homes and public buildings. For your villa or flat, it pays for windows and doors, insulation, shading, air conditioning and lighting. Solar for self-consumption, solar water heating and home batteries count too. Private owners without a business can apply, and so can a residents’ association (comunidad de propietarios), according to the official summary of the resolution.
Here is the catch several Spanish newspapers got wrong. The €6,000 and €10,000 figures are not a minimum spend. They are the smallest grant you are allowed to request. The 2025 rules behind the scheme also demand that your home climbs at least one energy rating letter, proven with an energy performance certificate (certificado energético). The published resolution gives no single subsidy percentage, since the agency’s catalogue of measures sets the rate for each type of work.

What this means for your home
1. A single window will not qualify
Replacing one draughty window? Forget it. Below €10,000 in grant money, an efficiency application is rejected. The numbers start to work once you bundle insulation, glazing and new air conditioning into one project. Check with your town hall first whether it wants a building permit for the job.
2. Approval starts a clock
With a grant below €15,000 you get 6 months to finish the work, from €15,000 to under €100,000 you get 12 months, and from €100,000 upwards the limit is 18 months. Line up your builders before you press submit.
3. Solar has a lower bar
For panels, solar thermal and storage the minimum grant is €6,000. Our guide to solar panel grants in Andalusia lists the other schemes, and our walkthrough of the Spanish electricity bill shows where the savings will appear.
What to sort out before 22 October
Money goes out in order of arrival, and anything filed after the budget runs dry is turned away. Book the energy certificate now. Then collect quotes from builders. The agency’s application portal opens at 9:00 on 22 October 2026 and closes on 30 September 2027 at the latest, sooner if the €20.77 million is gone.
