Andalusia’s Grant for New Autónomos Closes on 30 September

If you register as an autónomo in Andalusia, a start-up grant of 3,800 to 5,500 euros is waiting for you. The application has to reach the Junta by 30 September 2026. That deadline comes from the Resolución of 29 June 2026, published in BOJA number 123.

Key facts at a glance

  • Deadline: Línea 2 applications must reach the Junta by 30 September 2026
  • Amount: 3,800 euros as standard, up to 5,500 euros for younger founders in small municipalities
  • Condition: you must be on the reduced contribution rate and stay registered for twelve months

What the Junta de Andalucía pays

The programme is Línea 2, Inicio de Actividad, and it does what the name says: it pays for the start. Its legal base is the Orden of 29 June 2023, and the call covering 2025 and 2026 is the Resolución of 5 August 2025. On 29 June 2026 the Dirección General de Trabajo Autónomo y Economía Social did two things. It topped up the budget. And it pushed the closing date to 30 September 2026.

What you get depends on age, sex and where you work. Anyone running the business in an Andalusian municipality of fewer than 10,000 inhabitants moves up one step in every group. Applications run under concurrencia no competitiva, so you are not ranked against other applicants. You are racing the calendar, not your neighbour.

What it means for a new autónomo

1. Your real deadline is two months after registration

That 30 September is the outer edge. Your own window is tighter, because it runs for two months from the day you registered with the RETA. Register in June and you are late, even though the call is still open. How to register is in our guide to becoming an autónomo in Spain, and the social security number you need first has its own article.

2. No reduced contribution rate, no grant

There is a second filter. Only people on the reduced contribution rate, the tarifa plana, qualify. Pay by real income from day one and you are out. What self-employment actually costs each month is set out in our autónomo costs article.

3. Twelve months of commitment, and the money is taxable

Twelve months registered without a break, counted from the day after you apply, plus a business plan showing a profit in every year. Give up early and you pay it back. The grant is taxable income, so read the Spanish income tax article before you spend it.

Which leaves the months before the decision arrives. Most new autónomos still invoice clients back home that first year, and the mark-up on the exchange rate never appears on an invoice.

Our recommendation: Wise account for euros and other currencies

Wise shows the fee and the exchange rate separately before you confirm a transfer. If you are invoicing in two currencies in your first year as an autónomo, you can see what lands at the other end before you send it. The account opens online and holds euros on its own account number.

What to do this week

So check your RETA registration date first. Then sort out the certificado digital, because the Junta portal will not let you in without one. And run the numbers on your first year with the ExpatAndalucia budget calculator before you count on the grant.
